Dirt vs. Street Teaser – Strada Wheels, Inc

Hey Everyone!

Check out the teaser of my latest vid for Strada Wheels, shot alongside some very talented filmmakers, Gregory Cortez, Jesse Del Bono, and Bogdan Zlatkov. We’re going to be doing a series of Lifestyle videos for Strada and Off Road Monster in the upcoming months and I would love to know what you think we should feature! Some examples are: Surfers, MMA Fighters, and a Tattoo Artist. Who do you think embodies the urban style? Who do you think embodies off-roading?

This pretty accurately illustrates my life right now. Look forward to some new exciting content and crazy adventures.

A Short Story: Listen

During the Depression a young man was looking for a job. He knew morse code and wanted to work at a telegraph office. Luckily enough an opening had opened in his town. He approached the office but was immediately dismayed because the waiting room was packed full of older applicants. Dejected, he sat in the corner waiting his turn to be interviewed. Suddenly, he jumped up excitedly and rushed into the manager’s office.
A minute later the manager appeared and announced the position had been filled. The waiting applicants were furious and demanded to know why the boy was chosen. The manager said he had been tapping “whoever comes into my office first gets the job” in morse code on his window. Everyone could clearly hear it, but only the young man listened.
Are you like the young boy, always listening, or are you like the other applicants?

Phi Alpha Week

Do you push the new members to the brink in order to force brotherhood? Will putting them in difficult circumstances, a crucible, create lifelong bonds? I really don’t know, but I’m not willing to commit to the risks involved. Instead I will focus on what they need and hope for brotherhood.

What do they need? Scholarship for one. The quarter system moves fast. It is too easy to find yourself drowning in work early in the quarter. So, we are going to spend the week studying together. Wake up, eat, class, meet, study, eat, study, exercise, study, sleep. By participating in the same routine we will become closer. I will also have a number of activities for us to do as well.

I am very excited and I hope you are too.

Lie to Me

Is a solid show. I’m only a couple episodes in, but thus far it looks promising.

What would you do if you had the power to detect lies, to detect how a person is feeling? Would you even want that power?

Film + Pledge Education

“Thought flows in terms of stories — stories about events, stories about people, and stories about intentions and achievements. The best teachers are the best storytellers. We learn in the form of stories.” — Frank Smith

Well, that explains some things.

Working Out

I definitely want to get more exercise this year, but I know I will need a structure. Do I allocate gym hours or do I follow a workout retiming like P90X or Insanity?

In the past I have found just going to the gym to be useful but I was always at a loss for which exercises to do and when to do them. Creating a map for this on my own has been exceedingly difficult. Talking to friends about the subject has proven rewarding but it has never provided the entire map I need. I usually preach against following well traveled trails, but it when it comes to someone’s specialty maybe following is a good idea and may save some time for trail blazing in another subject.

This is my formal commitment to give P90X a go. I don’t know if my schedule will permit a daily routine, but I know I can do every other day at the very least.

If anyone has any thoughts on workouts or exercise routines please share.

Clients

Clients can be very difficult to work with at times. But the more you focus on working with them and stop seeing them as an obstacle the more likely you’ll create a better product.

I always enjoy client feedback. They may not always know my field, but that’s not a bad thing. Sometimes they are able to see more with unfamiliar eyes. Or in the case where you’re providing a service for their occupation or target audience, they definitely know it better than you do and are an incredible asset if utilized correctly.

I’m totally neglecting the psychological aspect of co creating a product. Rather than running back to your cave of wonders. Communicate.

Love thy client.

I’m back
